Arsenal’s title credentials have come under massive doubt recently due to their unimpressive performances in recent fixtures, and now they’ve dropped points once again following their 2-2 draw against Spurs.
The Gunners title aspirations seem to have been dashed by Tottenham in more ways than one as their North London rivals appear to be a significant infringement on their title hopes considering how well they’ve fared In the League so far.
Arsenal’s poor run of form began with their 2-0 loss at home to Barcelona back in February, since then they’ve failed to win any Premier League fixture – a bad feat which has left them in the wake of Tottenham’s uprising.
But inevitably a loss against the most dominant force in European football shouldn’t be what defines Arsenal’s season. The Gunners have been licking their wounds for too long which has put them in an uncomfortable position – they need to get fired up again before it’s far too late for them.
Over the years Arsenal have come close to winning the title, only to lose out towards the end of the season because of injury problems and consistency issues.
On the other hand, Spurs are in a scintillating position at the moment as they sit 2nd on the League table.
Pole position doesn’t seem too far away from Spurs; that is if Leicester doesn’t maintain their impressive run up until May.
In a season which has been defined by uncertainty amongst other things, we might just witness a dramatic turn of events in the closing stages of the Premier League that could see the Gunners claim the top spot.
But at the moment, their chances look quite slim compared to the likes of Leicester and Spurs who are set to battle it out until the end.
Right now Arsene Wenger should keep his sights set on getting Arsenal back to excellent form to avoid plummeting down to 4th place which has proven to be their most static position over the past few years.
With Alexis Sanchez back from injury and Aaron Ramsey in a rich vein of form, Arsenal might just be able to tackle Spurs’ Uprising.
Mauricio Pochettino will be looking towards the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane to lead the charge for the title, and with the end of the season looming near, Tottenham might just conclude the season as the happiest team in London.
