Leeds United Eyeing Highly-Rated Full Back as Taylor’s Replacement

Highly-rated Walsall full-back Rico Henry has been identified as the latest player caught on Leeds United radar as Gary Monk‘s hunt for the experienced defenders is still ongoing.

Leeds defender Charlie Taylor has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League over the summer. The Championship’s top left back has already seen a transfer request rejected by the club with likes of Middlesbrough, Burnley and West Brom reportedly interested. However, the English boss is keen on bringing one or two more defenders to the Elland Road before time.

According to the Coventry Telegraph, the Peacocks are eyeing Henry as Taylor’s potential replacement and could make a move if the 22-year-old defender completes a switch to the top flight.

The talented England U19 international impressed the English managers through his exciting play at the Banks’s Stadium. Premier League sides Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur also scouted him last season.

Leeds United are also interested in signing Leicester City’s out of favour defender Liam Moore, but his future is likely to be decided this week. According to a reliable news outlet Bristol Post, the 21-year-old has hinted via Twitter that his move out of the King Power Stadium is on the cards. Bristol City, with whom Moore has spent four months on loan last season, are the strongest candidate to secure his signature while Reading have also tabled £1m bid for him.

Leeds opened their Championship campaign with a 3-0 loss to Queen Park Rangers.
