MK Dons v Chelsea Preview : Hiddink Keen on FA Cup Advancement

Chelsea takes on MK Dons in a bid to advance further in the FA Cup as Guus Hiddink will be keen on bringing home some silverware to appease the fans at the end of the season.

The Blues don’t have any chance of retaining their Premier League title, and although they’re still in the running for the Champions League, Guus Hiddink will be looking to win the FA Cup as it’s somewhat within reach for the London outfit.

But to have a chance of winning the Cup Chelsea will need to get past MK Dons in their fourth round tie which should be a relatively easy task for Hiddink and his men.

How Easy is this fixture supposed to be for the Blues?

Mk Dons are having a tough time in the Championship – having just gained promotion from the League one this season they currently find themselves sitting at 20th in the league table.

We shouldn’t forget one thing – no FA Cup fixture is ever as it seems as we’ve seen some really astonishing upsets happen over the years but judging by the form and quality of players going into this tie, Chelsea are delicately poised to advance to the next round.

Guus Hiddink has to approach this fixture with caution as complacency against MK Dons could cause a repeat of the home side’s epic Capital one cup win over Manchester United.

Who’s going to turn up for Chelsea?

Eden Hazard is expected to feature in this game having been dropped in Chelsea’s previous fixtures due to his uninspiring performances.

I expect him to put in a match-winning performance against MK Dons, but Chelsea’s biggest threat in this game has to be Willian.

The Brazilian has been the Cream of the Crop for Chelsea this season, and I’m expecting to have a great game against MK Dons.

Team News

MK Dons: Striker Nicky Maynard is a doubt for the crucial clash against the Blues although he could feature in the match if he’s deemed fully fit.

Kyle McFadzean is available for selection once again after serving his suspension.
The major injury problems for MK Dons are Matthew Upson (hamstring), Ben Reeves (thigh) and Carl Baker (ankle) are out.

George Baldock is back in the fray following his loan spell at Oxford, but he won’t be able to feature in the tie as he has already made an appearance against Swansea City in the competition.

Chelsea: Pedro is available for selection having recovered from an illness which saw him get pulled out of the Arsenal game in Chelsea’s last Premier League outing.
