Newcastle needs to secure a win in their next Premier League fixture against Norwich to keep the momentum going ahead of the fierce clashes that await the Magpies.
Newcastle have just eight games left to preserve their Premier League status and by the looks of things, at least, one side might have their fate decided on the final day of the season.
For Alex Neil and his Norwich side, this season had been on of trial and error as the Hornets have had to change their style of play on numerous occasions to fit into life in the Premier League.
Norwich absolutely bossed the Championship last season, but as we all know – the Premier League is in complete contrast with the Championship regarding quality and competition.
At the moment, Norwich City are just above the drop zone by an inch as they sit at 17th place on the table, but in my opinion, if anyone’s going to stay up between these two sides I reckon it’ll be Newcastle.
The Geordies have shown a lot more passion going into the relegation battle, and it might just be one of the key factors that keep them from going down.
Papiss Cisse is back amongst the players having spent some time on the bench due to fitness issues.
The Senegal international seems to be ready to hit the ground running as he’s openly stated his intentions of playing an active role in Newcastle’s relegation fight.
“It’s my objective to stay in the Premier League In my head; Newcastle can’t go down. We just need to keep working hard and doing something good in the next game,” he said during the post match interview after the Tyne-wear derby according to Chronicle Live.
If Newcastle secure a win against Norwich, and other results go their way they’ll be en route to securing Premier League safety as Benitez will undoubtedly build on the momentum from the Norwich game as the Magpies take on tougher sides.
Although Newcastle won’t have it easy against Norwich as Alex Neil’s men are also quite adamant about playing Premier League football next season, nonetheless the Magpies need to get a good result at Carrow Road to keep their survival hopes alive.
